The 8th EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee sitting
On March 27-28, Strasbourg hosted the 8th PAC sitting attended by the Co-Chairs of the PAC, Tamar Khulordava and Sajjad Karim.
The Committee discusses Georgia-EU relations, EUAA implementation, progress and challenges in democracy and human rights, visa free process, DCFTA implementation and its impact on economy and agriculture, occupied territories and peaceful resolution of the conflict.
The reports will be delivered by: State Minister for Reconciliation, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili; Deputy Foreign Minister, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili; Deputy Economic Ministers, Genadi Arveladze and Natia Turnava; Deputy Public Defender, Giorgi Burjanadze, and Deputy Head of International Relations Department at MIA, Nino Gakharia.
The Committee will make the recommendations in facilitation to EUAA implementation.
The EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee consists of Georgian MPs and MEPs. It is one of the bodies of the institutional framework stipulated under the EUAA for Georgia-EU cooperation along with the Association Council and Association Committees. Pursuant to Article 410, Chapter I, Book VIII of EUAA, the PAC facilitates to development of the Parliamentary diplomacy and enhancement of EP-Georgian Parliament ties.
