The Faction “Georgian Dream – Conservators” working on the issues of the persons with disabilities supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy

The Faction “Georgian Dream – Conservators” and the Northern Ireland Party “Democracy Unionists Party” started the working meeting on policy for the persons with disabilities.
The meeting was held in Tbilisi Marriot Hotel. The meeting aims at development of the document directed to positive changes to the state policy on persons with disabilities.
The Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Chair of the Conservative Party Zviad Dzidziguri and MP, First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nino Goguadze opened the meeting.
The GeoWel Director, David Jijelava spoke about the respective situation in Georgia, study outcomes and recommendations. The Deputy Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamashvili overviewed current legal regulations and enforcement mechanisms, programs offered by the central and local authorities.
The DUP and Northern Ireland Legislative Assembly member, Paula Bradley, the Northern Ireland Assembly member, Tom Hogue and the Chair of the Northern Ireland Equality Commission, Dr Michael Wardlow, spoke about Northern Ireland’s experience.
The meeting was attended by MPs and the Faction “Georgian Dream – Conservatives” of the City Assembly, as well as executive and local authorities, Public Defender Office, local and international organizations.
