The meeting of Zviad Dzidziguri and Nino Goguadze with Westminster Foundation for Democracy representatives

The Georgian Dream - Conservatives 07 Nov 2018
The meeting of Zviad Dzidziguri and Nino Goguadze with Westminster Foundation for Democracy representatives

The Vice Speaker, Zviad Dzidziguri and the First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nino Goguadze met with the WFD Multi-Party Office representatives.

The parties discussed cooperation between the Faction “Georgian Dream – Conservatives” and WFD and internal party development project of Conservatives.

The Faction cooperates with WFD since 2017. The Foundation facilitates to development of the policy on persons with disabilities. “Intensification of WFD in political life of Georgia is very important. So far, various Foundations hold constant cooperation with the liberal parties. It is the first precedent in the country when the Foundation started cooperation with the Conservatives in the Parliament and the City Assembly. The first project the Foundation cooperates with the Factions is integration of persons with disabilities in public life, though there are the points remaining we will cooperate on, which will be important for political life of our country”, - Z. Dzidziguri noted.

WFD will also cooperate with the Conservatives on the new project concerning disinformation and propaganda.

“WFD cooperates with the Conservative Party during the year. We started our partnership on one of the issues concerning development of strategy of the Party on persons with disabilities. WFD’s experts are actively involved in this process to assist the Conservative party to develop and implement respective policy. We just accomplished one stage of cooperation. Now, we start implementation of this policy on the local level. The Conservative party will work on this issue in the City Assembly and move to disinformation and propaganda, which in capacity of one of the threats is actively discussed in European countries. In our case, it is important to discuss this issue on the political level, to develop the policy. I believe that our partnership will be based on this very issue and will be productive for the country”, - N. Goguadze noted.

Today, WFD representatives will also meet with the Deputy Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamashvili, Chair of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Akaki Zoidze and NGOs on persons with disabilities.

WFD members also schedule the meetings in Tbilisi City Assembly, City Hall, Public Defender Office, CEC and NGOs.
