The Member of Parliament, Akaki Zoidze addressing the Chair of “Georgian Dream” and the Political Council with the offer on Referendum or Plebiscite
The Chair of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Akaki Zoidze requires from the leaders of the “Georgian Dream” to undertake respective measures for the referendum or plebiscite regarding the proportional Parliamentary elections 2020.
“I have decided to openly address the Chairman of the Party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia” and the Political Council to undertake the respective measures within the shortest time and hold the referendum or plebiscite regarding the proportional elections in 2020. I strongly believe that this decision will prevent further enhancement of polarization in society and prevent irreversibility of polarization. I address everyone and first of all, the members of Georgian Dream opting to reject the proportional electoral system, to take advantage of the time remaining until the referendum or plebiscite and communicate with the society. However, we all shall agree that the outcomes will be mandatory and unconditional as the guideline for us all”, - he noted.
He dwelt on his decision in case if his offer is not shared – he intends to leave the politics and the Parliament.
