The presentation of the Documentary Film by MP, Irakli Mezurnishvili in Movie-Theatre “Rustaveli”
The Movie-Theatre “Rustaveli” hosted the presentation of the documentary film by MP, Irakli Mezurnishvili – “A Quarter of a Century”. The film, scheduled to be represented within Tbilisi 17th International Film Festival, is dedicated to Georgia-USA 25-year friendship and reflects the nearest history of Georgia by the eyes of all US Ambassadors, expressed in their emotions about Georgia. The film also describes the way of Georgia from restoration of independence through 25 years.
According to the author, “the film is dedicated to Georgia-USA relations. On December 25 we celebrate the 25th anniversary since USA being one of the first to recognize Georgia as an independent state, followed with establishment of diplomatic relations. The film provides the vision of American diplomats about development of Georgia during the last 25 years. You will see the process of development of the country. USA stood supporting us in very hard period for Georgia and played an important role in our development”.
The film is participated by an American party solely, which gives more impartiality to the film. “I presume, none of the political team is entitled to use it in capacity of a political dividend and it is the main charm of the film that it provides the opinion by US Ambassadors solely. It is the project serving a sincere gratitude to USA for supporting us”.
The presentation was attended by the US Ambassador, H.E. Ian Kelly, stating that it is a greatest honor to represent USA at the 25th anniversary of Georgia-USA relations. “It was the greatest honor to participate in the film along with the preceding Ambassadors. It is the greatest honor as well to represent USA at the 25th jubilee of Georgia-USA relations. We expect more days to celebrate. One of the issues I mention in the film is my first visit to Georgia 40 years ago. I was a student when first visited Georgia and loved this country. I would like to say that I could never imagine Georgia becoming independent. I also speak about diverse issues of USA-Georgia cooperation”.
According to the Chairman, Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, the recent history of Georgia “is demonstrated from a very interesting perspective”.
The US Ambassadors serving various times in Georgia, spoke about developments in Georgia. “The author of the film is very talented. I would like to wish I. Mezurnishvili further success as in creative so in Parliamentary life”.
