Beka Odisharia congratulates Muslim citizens of Georgia with Novruz Bayrami

The Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia participated in the event on the occasion of Novruz Bayrami in Mirza Patali Akhundov Azerbaijani Museum of Culture.

On behalf of the Parliament, he congratulated the Azerbaijani compatriots with Novruz Bayrami and delivered the Georgian traditional snacks and sweats.

“I would like to heartily congratulate our brotherly nation within and beyond Georgia with this day. In my assumption, it is immanent that the Parliament of Georgia is represented by all the Committees and female MPs to express our brotherly attitude to the Azerbaijani people. Let me manifest my pride by saying that other than presiding the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee for 5 years, I am Krtsanisi and Mtatsminda Single Mandate MP accumulating the vast community of our absolutely equal compatriots – Azerbaijani citizens. When we speak about the ethnic minority, it is a conditional concept as we all are the children of our country. I would like to thank all the public figures, philosophers, cultural scientists and others, such are Patali Akhundov and Akaki Tsereteli, who rooted the links between our nations for centuries, not only in political and geostrategic terms but in the cultural sphere as well. As you may know, Akaki Tsereteli translated “Vizier of Lankaran Khanate” as the “Khanate Vizier”, which evidences our proximity to Azerbaijani culture. We keep this strategy of brotherhood and alliance. Here, we see the young generation and we shall do our best to facilitate their approximation”, - he stated.
