The sitting of the Bureau of the EU-Georgia PA Committee

The Bureau of the EU-Georgia PA Committee held the video conference presided by the Co-Chairs of the Committee – Chair of the EU Integration Committee Maka Bochorishvili and the MEP Marina Kaljurand.

The Bureau was as well attended by the Deputy Co-Chairs of the Bureau of the EU-Georgia PA Committee, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Levan Ioseliani and the Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, David Zilpimiani.

The Bureau discussed the EUAA implementation dynamics, the financial and technical support by the EU to Georgia in countering the pandemic, security challenges and hybrid threats, as well as the peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict.

The parties touched upon the political processes in Georgia, the mediation process initiated by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, when the parties noted that the EU expects the timely The Bureau of the EU-Georgia PA Committee held the video conference presided by the Co-Chairs of the Committee – Chair of the EU Integration Committee Maka Bochorishvili and the MEP Marina Kaljurand.

The parties tou elimination of the political crisis in Georgia and further enhancement of the Parliamentary democracy.

The First Deputy Foreign Minister, Vakhtang Makharoblishvili and the Head of the EEAS EaP Bilateral Relations Division, Richard Tibbels dwelt on the EU-Georgia relations progress in 2020.

The Deputy Foreign Minister, Lasha Darsalia reported on the peacekeeping policy of the Georgian Government and the situation in the Georgian regions occupied by Russia.

The Head of the European Commission DGAI NEAR Georgia-Moldova Unit, Mathieu Bousquet delivered information about financial and technical support by the EU to Georgia in addressing the pandemic.
