First Meeting of Open governance Permanent Parliamentary Council
The Council, presided by the Chair of the Council, Deputy Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Mariam Kvrivishvili, held the first coordination meeting, which was attended by MPs, members of the Council and the representatives of the Presiding Organization of Advisory Group to the Council - IDFI.
Today's meeting was mainly introductory, the attendees talked about the involvement of the Parliament in the Open Government Partnership (OGP), what has been done so far, what are these successful projects, what are the challenges, etc. The meeting focused on the action plan to be worked on under the 2021 OGP.
"Today we can confidently say that our main line in 2021 within the Parliamentary OGP will be Covid Transparency, about which we will provide more information to the public in the coming period. We agreed with the members of the Council that each committee, each of us, will take maximum care to ensure that executive oversight, access to information, and all information that may be relevant to the public, is easily and quickly obtained through the Parliamentary OGP platform. In general, OGP is an important component in legislative work and, of course, I am very proud to have had the opportunity to lead this important council", - M. Kvrivishvili commented.
