Meeting of Givi Mikanadze with Ambassador of Greece
The Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of the Hellenic Republic, Givi Mikanadze held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece, H.E. Dimitrios Karabalis to review the existing relations between Georgia and Greece and talk about the directions of future cooperation.
G. Mikanadze informed the Greek diplomat about the communication between the Greek-Georgian friendship groups and dwelt on the initiatives prepared by the Georgian side to further strengthen relations between the parliaments of the two countries.
In particular, the parties expanded on the signing of a memorandum of strategic cooperation between the parliaments, the planning of exchange visits and the organization and holding of ceremonial events by 2022, for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Greece.
According to G. Mikanadze, his Greek counterpart - the Head of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Georgia has already been informed about the mentioned initiatives and there is business communication between the parties.
The Ambassador hailed the communication between the legislators of the two countries. According to him, he will provide information to the relevant services in Athens regarding the initiatives heard at the meeting and will support all the measures that will bring the parliaments of the two countries even closer.
