The meeting of the Head of the Georgia-Greece Friendship Group with his Greek Counterpart

The Head of the Georgia-Greece Friendship Group, Givi Mikanadze held the introductory online meeting with his Greek Counterpart, Dimitris Kouvelas.
The parties discussed the bilateral relations and further cooperation prospects. G. Mikanadze offered the conclusion of the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Parliaments.
Mr. Kouvelas welcomed this initiative and noted that the draft memorandum will be considered with his colleagues and introduce to the Speaker of the Greek Parliament.
The parties discussed the upcoming bilateral working visits and agreed that the visits approximately will be served in June and October.
As noted, on April 20, 2022, Georgia and Greece celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. On this occasion, G. Mikanadze offered to hold certain ceremonies in Tbilisi and Athens. He informed his colleague about the meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of CoE member states in Athens in 2021 and noted that it will allow the countries to enhance the Parliamentary relations and communication.
D. Kouvelas estimated the first meeting with G. Mikanadze as very important and welcomed the initiatives of Mr. Mikanadze about the new cooperation formats.
The meeting was attended by the member of the Georgia-Greece Friendship Group, Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Bochorishvili and the Ambassador of Georgia to Greece, H.E. David Dondua.
