The meeting of Irakli Beraia with the British Ambassador, H.E. Mark Clayton
The parties discussed the Georgia-Britain strategic partnership, de-occupation of regions of Georgia, threats from Russia and the EU and NATO integration process.
The Ambassador underlined the intact support of Britain to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and EU and NATO aspiration of Georgia and noted his attachment of high importance to the strategic partnership with Georgia and that the respective agreement concluded between the countries took the bilateral relations to a qualitatively higher level.
As Irakli Beraia stated, Georgia and Britain share special relations and successfully cooperate in various spheres, first of all in defense capacity and security.
The merit of Britain is especially high in NATO-Georgia essential package implementation, defense capacity of Georgia, cyber-security, crisis management, strategic communications and especially within the Wardrop Strategic Dialogue format, the Parliamentary cooperation is one of the particular directions of which.
I. Beraia thanked the Ambassador for support and noted that the international pressure shall be intensified on Russia for de-occupation of Georgian regions. Besides, the NATO allies shall accelerate the political decision on the integration of Georgia to NATO.
I. Beraia introduced the Committee priorities and expressed commitment for close cooperation.
