Meeting of Levan Ioseliani with UK Ambassador

Vice-Speaker Levan Ioseliani met with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Georgia, H.E. Mark Clayton to review the current political situation in the country and assess the ongoing processes.
The main topic of conversation was electoral reform and the legislative initiatives initiated by the Citizens’ Party in the Parliament.
The British diplomat was interested in the Party's views and opinions on judicial reform.
L. Ioseliani informed the Ambassador about the importance of electoral and judicial reforms.
"The possibility of judicial reform is included in the six-point document proposed by the CoE President. Today, the opposition has a good chance to get a significant result through these negotiations and start reforming the judiciary", - L. Ioseliani remarked.
The meeting with the UK Ambassador was attended by MP Alexander Elisashvili, who briefed the diplomat on the activities of the Citizens’ Party in the Parliament.
The sides also discussed the main priorities of Georgia's foreign policy and dwelt on the security challenges in the region and the threats posed by Russia.
