The Deputy to the Chair of the Faction "National Movement" Salome Samadashvili met with the members of the Monitoring Committee of PACE to discuss the political agreement reached between the opposition and the Government.

“Until the fulfillment of all the conditions pledged by the Government authorities for these negotiations, which deal with nine cases in particular - four people in prison and prosecution against five people, we will not endorse the constitutional changes in the Parliament. These are cases that, in the opinion of international NGOs, are politically motivated. Our partners understand very well that it is necessary to fulfill this condition in order to ease the situation in the country and provide for the transition to a normal political life.

We also talked about double standards regarding the authorities' approach to the rule of law and investigation of various cases, including the crimes committed by law enforcement”, - S. Samadashvili noted.
