The European Committee of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) visits Georgia to discuss selection of the host city for the European Basketball Championship 2021.

Today, the Chair of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee, Mikheil Kavelashvili hosted the FIBA Delegation members and introduced the details of construction of the new Sports Palace. Georgia has applied to host the Championship: “On May 25, 2019, FIBA will select the city to host the Championship. We do our best to host the European Basketball Championship 2021 in Tbilisi. The Government and the Basketball Federation are actively engaged in this process and we have a good team. Georgian people like basketball and they will be glad to host the Championship in Tbilisi”, - M. Kavelashvili noted.
