The Chair of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee, Mikheil Kavelashvili held the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Akira Imamura.

At the introductory meeting, the parties discussed Georgia-Japan cooperation, Olympic Games scheduled in Tokyo in 2021, its organizational issues etc.

The Ambassador offered to meet with the Olympic Committee of Georgia to inform the preparatory works in Japan.

The parties discussed the cooperation between the Committee and the Embassy and noted that Japan is committed to cooperating with Georgia in infrastructure and sports tourism spheres.

The parties discussed the exchange programs for the judo and sumo athletes and the qualification of the coaches.

The parties agreed on cooperation and communication directions.
