Media and Society 24 Feb 2021
The meeting of Nino Tsilosani with the Ambassador of Japan

The Chair of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Nino Tsilosani held the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Akira Imamura to discuss the bilateral relations and cooperation directions, stressing the agrarian potential of Georgia and the Japanese aid programs in this sphere.

The parties touched upon the cooperation between Georgia and JICA. JICA highly contributes to the projects in Georgia. In this context, the parties agreed on cooperation prospects and discussed new directions.

“The Ambassador who assumed the office a couple of months ago, is well aware of the agrarian potential of Georgia and supports our agrarian development which we highly value. He expressed commitment to support the endeavors of our Committee and initiatives directed to modernization of our agrarian sector, including the solar energy for the farms, development of cooperatives etc. We agreed that bio-production is important for agrarian development of our country, which will allow us to enter the high-quality markets, including the EU, Japan etc. We planned our further cooperation and hope for tangible outcomes”, - N. Tsilosani stated.

The parties emphasized the political developments in Georgia and challenges we encounter.

As N. Tsilosani stated, the Ambassador reaffirmed support to the democratic development of Georgia and hoped that the decisions will be made deriving from the best interests of our country.

The parties agreed to facilitate friendly relations and cooperation between the parties.
