Nino Tsilosani, Chairperson of the Agrarian Issues Committee, David Songhulashvili, Chairperson of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, and Maaike Van Koldam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Georgia, visited several agricultural enterprises in Kakheti region today.

One of the first enterprises they visited was a modern standard livestock farm - "White Farm" in the village of Kvemo Bodbe, Sighnaghi Municipality.

It should be noted that the farm is a company created with Dutch-Georgian investment within the framework of a ''Unified Agro Project'', which produces 10 tons of high-quality raw milk daily. The products are sold in the local market.

The Chairs of the Committees and the Ambassador of the Netherlands also visited other enterprises in Sighnaghi Municipality. Among them, they were in the wine and cheese enterprise - "Butrana" LLC., which was founded by a young innovative businessman Jemal Khatiashvili as a brand in 2016.

Jemal Khatiashvili is the first person in Georgia to have turned spicy cheese production into a real business.

The young businessman was still 14 years old when he first crushed wine, and at the age of 17 he bottled 3 years of aging wine with memorable labels for his relatives and then decided to start his own company.

The parties visited the fodder manufacturing enterprise "TaoFood" in Tsnori, built by Manana Metreveli, the beneficiary of the state project "Preferential Agro Credit".

The enterprise is capable of producing up to 80 tons of domestic animal and fish feed. The products are sold in the local market under the brand name "Taofood".

Almost 900,000 GEL has been invested in the enterprise, of which 60,000 GEL in affordable agricultural loans, and 300,000 GEL through private investments.

Today, in the village of Tibaani, the visitors examined the livestock breeding center - "Caucasian Genetics". It is a major supplier in the country in the field of livestock equipment, production lines for dairy and meat processing, breeding and artificial insemination.

“Caucasus Genetics” runs on the latest technologies and employs the best experience in the livestock sector.

The Chair of the Agrarian Issues Committee will occasionally get acquainted with the innovative projects and enterprises implemented in the field of agriculture and their needs in different regions.
