Meeting of Vice-Speaker, Kakhaber Kutchava with Ambassador of Italy, Enrico Valvo

Media and Society 16 Feb 2021
Meeting of Vice-Speaker, Kakhaber Kutchava with Ambassador of Italy, Enrico Valvo
The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, Kakhaber Kuchava met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Georgia, Enrico Valvo to table the issues of deepening the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and the ongoing political processes in the state.

The parties stressed the importance of intensifying relations in various sectoral areas.

"During the meeting with the Italian ambassador, we discussed current issues of cooperation between our countries. Prior to the pandemic, the Italian MPs were expected to visit Georgia, however, due to the current developments, this visit was postponed. As soon as the epidemiological situation improves, bilateral visits will resume and, first of all, we are waiting for our Italian colleagues in Georgia.

We have very big plans on how to intensify relations in various sectors, including attracting investments of Italian businessmen in the private sector, which will be another step towards deepening cooperation between our countries. In addition, during the meeting with the Ambassador, of course, we talked about the current political processes in the country and the steps taken by Georgia, the ultimate goal of which is to submit a formal application for EU membership in 2024", - K. Kuchava stated post hoc the meeting.
