The sitting of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee

Media and Society 17 May 2021
The sitting of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee

The Committee has been recomposed.

The Chair, Irakli Kadagishvili nominated two new members – David Kacharava and Paata Manjgaladze. At the sitting, the Committee approved the termination of the credentials ahead of time for MP, Irakli Sesiashvili due to his appointment as the Advisor to the Prime Minister for the defense and security affairs on May 13, which pursuant to the Constitution, and the Rules of Procedure, is incompatible with the status of the Member of Parliament.

The respective conclusion will be submitted to the Bureau and to the plenary.

The Committee approved expediency of the registration of the new Faction “Lelo – Partnership for Georgia”.

According to the Chair, I. Kadagishvili, the Committee staff has verified the enclosed material and determined their compliance with paragraph 2, Article 48 and paragraphs 1-3, Article 49 of the Rules of Procedure. The respective conclusion will be submitted to the Bureau.

The Committee discussed the issues related to the registration of the lobbyists and made the decision to reject the registration of the citizens Besik Kartsivadze and Zaal Sarajishvili due to the failure of their statements to meet the requirements of the Law on Lobbyist Activity.

As the Chair stated, after elimination of the gaps, these persons will be credible to re-appeal to the Parliament.
