The Procedural Issues and Rules Committee determined the number of the members of the Culture Committee and the proportional quotas

The newly established Culture Committee will be composed of at least 10 MPs as the Deputy Chair of the Committee, Guram Macharashvili stated at the sitting.
According to him, the Parliament adopted the Resolution yesterday on the set-up of the 16th Committee in the Parliament for Culture and hence, the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, pursuant to the Rules of Procedure, determined the number of members and proportional quotas of the Committee – at least 10 MPs, where 6 of them will be nominated by the Majority and 4 by the opposition.
The Committee approved the decision the respective legal conclusion on which will be further submitted to the Bureau.
The Committee discussed the issue of expediency of collection of 200 000 signatures by the Initiative Group of the Citizens in view of realization of the right on the introduction of the draft Constitutional Law on Changes to the Constitution.
As the reporter, G. Macharashvili stated, the Committee Staff has studied the issue and the enclosed documents and considered it expedient to submit the respective forms to the Group for collection of 200 000 signatures.
Pursuant to the Rules of Procedure, the Group shall, within the term of 4 months, collect the signatures and after their submission, the Committee shall verify their authenticity to initiate the legal change. The Committee approved the issue.
