Sofio Katsarava Meets Spanish Chargé d’Affaires
The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee,Sofio Katsarava held an introductory meeting with Spanish Chargé d’Affaires, Jorge Lucini Serrano de Haro.
Relations between Georgia and Spain, the prospects of their enhancement and expansion, especially at the Parliamentary level was the main topic of the conversation.
Sofio Katsarava highlighted the situation in the Georgia’s occupied territories and the challenges in term of safety, human rights and humanity.
The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee also emphasized Georgia’s foreign policy priorities, the country’s EU and NATO integration pass, implemented and ongoing reforms by the Georgian Government. Katsarava stressed on the importance of strengthening the Parliament’s oversight functions result from the constitutional reform.
“I had an introductory meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of Spain and we discussed all the key aspects of our bilateral relations. Mr. Jorge Lucini Serrano de Haro confirmed strong interest of Spain in having deeper relations with Georgia. We agreed to continue cooperation in order to further expand and intensify our existing relations and at the parliamentary level as well”, – Sofio Katsarava stated.
