Meeting of Sozar Subari with Entrepreneurs of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region

The Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, Sozar Subari met with the entrepreneurs owning a sawmill in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.
The owners of the wood processing facilities petitioned the Chairman of the Committee to postpone the new regulations of the legislation, which should come into force on 1 April. These regulations refer to the Government Resolution N46, adopted several years ago, on the rules of timber movement on the territory of Georgia and the technical regulations of the primary timber (sawmill) primary processing facility (sawmill), which, among other things, provide for the video surveillance system.
It was generally noted at the meeting that in recent years, many things have improved in terms of accounting, although there are some regulations that the parties think need some refinement and rescheduling especially amid the COVID pandemic. According to the entrepreneurs, there are some other regulations, the abolition of which would be appropriate.
"We are going to work with the relevant agencies - the Financial Police, the Tax Department, the Forestry Department, to actually find out how well-founded the claims of the entrepreneurs are and, therefore, to adopt regulations that do not back down from the results that are related to accounting but not mitigate the new regulations for the entrepreneurs", - S. Subari commented after the meeting.
MPs Viktor Japaridze and Anzor Bolkvadze, representatives of the Department of Environment Protection also took part in the meeting with the entrepreneurs.
