The sitting of the Interim Commission on Territorial Integrity and De-Occupation

The Commission heard the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani reporting on the outcomes of Geneva Talks, challenges and response mechanisms, the peace-keeping initiative of the Government “Step to Better Future”, facilitation of trade-economic links between the population on both sides of the dividing line based on the common interests etc.

The sitting was held in camera.

“With the Commission, we agreed on the schedule and plans of cooperation for four upcoming years and decided to often discuss the thematic directions and hold offsite sittings in the villages nearby the occupied territories”, - the State Minister stated.

According to the Chair of the Commission, Giorgi Volski, the parties discussed the Geneva Talks.

“We discussed the issues appurtenant to the working group competence, including the humanitarian and human rights problems, possible developments in this process and planned to hold the enlarged meeting with participation of the Foreign Affairs Minister and other agencies”, - he stated.

G. Volski introduced information on the Action Plan of the Commission for 2021.

The sitting was attended by the representatives of the Foreign Relations, the EU Integration, the Human Rights and Civil Integration, the Health Care and Social Issues and the Defense and Security Committees.
