The ancient printed books have been delivered to the National Library by the initiative of Simon Nozadze
The Chair of the Faction “Georgian Dream – Industrials” initiated the delegation of the ancient printed books archived in Terjola Central Library to the National Library for registration and maintenance.
The rare books printed in the printing-house of King Vakhtang VI have been delivered to the National Library on August 13 with participation of MP Simon Nozadze, Deputy Director of the National Library Mirian Khositashvili, and the Director of the Library Resources Department Levan Taktakishvili.
“I have discovered these books. We had information about Terjola Library but never expected to see such unique books. We have immediately contacted the National Library, visited Terjola and got cognizant of the material the part of which is printed 250-300 years ago in the printing-house of Vakhtang VI with the Minuscule shrift. The National Library has nothing similar to this. Naturally, due to the objective reasons, the Library was unable to ensure due maintenance of the rare books, so, by the decision of the Municipality administration, we delivered these rare books to the National Library”, - S. Nozadze stated.
