The Chair of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee, Mikheil Kavelashvili held the introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Swiss Confederation, H.E. Patrick Franzen.
The parties discussed Georgia-Switzerland Parliamentary cooperation and Swiss investments to Georgia. As noted, Switzerland has funded the programs in agriculture, economy and education fields.
M. Kavelashvili introduced the initiative of cooperation with Switzerland in sports and youth issues and noted that his past activity as the football player is related to Switzerland. So, training program of the young athletes and couches by Swiss specialists will facilitate to development of sports in Georgia.
The Ambassador hailed the initiative and expressed commitment for cooperation. T
he parties discussed development of sports tourism and noted that Switzerland can share rich experience.
M. Kavelashvili spoke about the state policy approaches to youth and noted that state undertakes various programs for vocational education of the youth.
The parties agreed on close communication and cooperation.
