The MPs at the joint sitting discussed the healthcare problems on the occupied territories of Georgia and the due response mechanisms.

As the Chair of the Commission, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Irakli Beraia stated, the Commission keeps the realization of the mandate authorities. “We have held the sittings dedicated to the problems on the occupied territories. Today, the sitting is dedicated to the healthcare state on the occupied territories, accessibility to the medical services, respective challenges and response mechanisms”.

Based on the preliminary consultations and the substantiated arguments, the sitting was held in camera. The reports have been introduced by the Head of the Healthcare and Social Protection Office of the Temporary Administrative-Territorial Unit of former South Ossetia, Tamaz Bestaev and the Healthcare and Social Protection Minister of Abkhazia AR, Ketevan Bakaradze.

The sitting was also attended by the representatives of the Abkhazia AR and Tskhinvali region legitimate authorities and Sokhumi University.
