The Georgian MPs met with the representatives of the UN Working Group on the issue of human rights and transnational corporations and other business enterprises headed by Surya Deva.

The parties discussed human rights protection by the Parliament and the Government.

“We introduced the reforms we undertake in terms of labor safety, rights of the persons with disabilities, their re-socialization and integration. We discussed the mechanisms to respond to the human rights violation and touched upon the complex plans of the Parliament to improve the human rights state including in the private sector”, - D. Tskitishvili stated.

The visit of the UN Working Group ends on April 12 and envisages the meetings in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi with the respective Governmental agencies, NGOs, business unions and private companies.

The Group will deliver the report to be promulgated in June, 2020 and discussed at the 44th UN Human Rights Council session.
