The meeting of Levan Gogichaishvili with the OSCE/ODIHR representatives

The member of the Legal Issues Committee, Levan Gogichaishvili met with the OSCE/ODIHR representatives.
The guests asked about cooperation between the Parliament and civil society. L. Gogichaishvili noted that the Parliament is open for everyone concerned about the Parliamentary activity.
“Activity of the civil society and the citizens in general in regards with the Parliamentary activity depends not only the good will of MPs but it is ensured on the legal level under the Rules of Procedure. Correspondingly, they encounter no impediments and the Parliament is always open for them”.
He spoke about the draft Rules of Procedure: “The draft guarantees better mechanisms for civil organizations and the Georgian citizens to actively participate in the Parliamentary activity and legislative process”.
According to him, MPs are interested in more openness of the Parliament and higher transparency of activity. “I believe that every new day, every upcoming session serve as the better opportunity for Georgian citizens to oversee the Government through their representatives – MPs and to participate in the political life of the country”.
