The Chair of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee, Mikheil Kavelashvili held the meeting with the UNICEF Representative, Ghassan Khalil to discuss prevention of engagement of the youth in gambling.

As noted, UNICEF and the Patriarchate of Georgia already undertake joint actions to be soon joined by M. Kavelashvili.

“We shall offer the alternative ways of gambling to the youth to prevent them from engagement in gambling and other temptations. In this regard, the Committee has launched various initiatives aiming at promotion of healthy lifestyle and facilitation of sports infrastructural projects. At the meeting, the UNICEF Representative expressed his will for cooperation with the Committee, which conditions attraction of the resources of UNICEF in Committee initiatives”, - M. Kavelashvili noted.
