The meeting of Sofio Katsarava with the Members of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defense of the Parliament of Ireland
The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sofio Katsarava met with the Members of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defense of the Parliament of Ireland.
S. Katsarava thanked the guests for the Resolution adopted by the Oireachtas on February 23 in support to sovereignty and territorial integrity and EU and NATO integration of Georgia. The parties discussed the peaceful resolution of conflicts and foreign priorities of Georgia, as well as progress and reforms for EU integration.
The parties emphasized inter-Parliamentary cooperation and set up of Ireland-Georgia Friendship Group. Irish MPs noted the progress of Georgia and the role thereof as an economic contributor and expressed support to EU and NATO integration of the country.
The parties as well touched upon economic, tourism, education and trade spheres for cooperation. The guests invited S. Katsarava and Committee members to Ireland for bilateral meetings as high rank meetings facilitate to enhancement of inter-Parliamentary cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chair of Foreign Committee, Nino Goguadze and the Deputy Chair, Dimitri Tskitishvili.
