The speech by Nino Goguadze on media literacy at the PACE Committee sitting
The First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nino Goguadze delivered the speech at the PACE Committee for Culture, Science, Education and Media and spoke about media literacy programs in CoE member states, as well as disinformation and propaganda threats, awareness of the society, best experience of European countries, social media etc.
“Media literacy remains in the CoE agenda as it is considered as one of the key instruments to address disinformation and propaganda threats. Many European countries have developed the policy on the national level to address misleading and propagandist information and CoE shall consider the uniform approaches to these issues.
Today, I introduced Georgia’s experience. Georgia is on the path of developing media literacy and we shall keep measuring progress of these programs in cooperation with all the persons holding experience in this sphere”.
