Anri Okhanashvili, Guguli Magradze and Mirian Tsiklauri discussing the suicide problems in the Patriarchate

The Eminent Shio has initiated the Round Table meeting in the Patriarchate to discuss the suicide problems.

The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, the Deputy Chair of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, Guguli Magradze and the member of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Mirian Tsiklauri, as well as the psychologists and the representatives of the Patriarchate.

“It is an acute problem requiring immediate response to prevent the challenges for the society and to ensure all available response mechanisms by the state”, - A. Okhanashvili noted.

According to G. Magradze, the uniform system shall be established to unify all respective instances, including the Patriarchate, Parliament, Society of Psychologists, education, healthcare and law-enforcement agencies.

“All these instances within the system shall ensure uninterrupted communication for proper use of the resources to address one of the acutest problems. We need to hold the systematic mandatory and universal training for the pedagogues, parents and the pupils concerning early detection and prevention of inclination to suicide. Certain changes in a person, namely in the behavior of the children go ahead of the suicide and thus, if the persons contacting the child hold due knowledge and skills, then these changes can be detected to prevent the suicide”, - she noted. She underlined the greatest responsibility of media about this problem.
