Beka Odisharia: we strive to at maximal extent mitigate the difficulties for the people who regardless of their legal status encounter the complications abroad

Beka Odisharia: we strive to at maximal extent mitigate the difficulties for the people who regardless of their legal status encounter the complications abroad

“We strive to at maximal extent mitigate the difficulties for the people who regardless of their legal status encounter the complications abroad and hence, we will undertake the approaches and measures according to the countries and we also keep uninterrupted communication with them”, - the Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia stated.

The Committee heard the information about the pandemic in the world and the condition of Georgian citizens residing in/visiting other countries.

The Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikheil Ninua and the Director of the Diaspora Relations Department, Malkhaz Gulagashvili introduced the information about the needs of Georgian diasporas and citizens abroad and described the services offered to them by Georgia.

“We heard very interesting information about the regime of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and I would like to note that similar to the medical sphere and the law-enforcement agencies, the consulates, embassies and the diplomats also work in the 24-hour mode, keep communication with the diaspora organizations, clergymen, consulates, young ambassadors, public groups and the institutions abroad”, - B. Odisharia noted.

Due to the complicated access to the medical personnel for Georgian citizens abroad, the Government of Georgia and the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the National Disease Control Center ensures online consultations with them.

“I hope that the high consolidation in the state structures and high solidarity in the society will let us solve this problem within and beyond the country shortly”, - he noted.
