Dimitri Khundadze: the families eligible for the living allowance will enjoy uninterrupted allowance during the inspection period

The Chair of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Dimitri Khundadze held the briefing to introduce the initiative ensuring uninterrupted allowances for the families and persons during inspection of their status: “We hold the allowance program for the socially vulnerable families covering 430 000 citizens, including children. The targeted social allowance program responds to the challenges and requires substantiated changes time after time. At present, the vulnerable families will enjoy uninterrupted allowances during the inspection. Despite that the greatest part gets the full indemnification, this is still a hard period for them as they are left facing their abject poverty. The Committee raises the initiative to ensure uninterrupted allowances for these families during inspection of their socio-economic state and after verifying their status, they will stay in or rejected from the program according to the granted points. It requires an extra 5.4 ml GEL. Hereof decision will provide the families with uninterrupted allowance during the inspection period aiming at granting the new rating points. It will be yet another step made for benefit of the population eliminating the risk of the social state of the vulnerable strata. The consultations have already been held with the respective agency – the IDPs, Health, Labor and Social Protection Ministry. The change will become effective in April 2020”.

The necessary financial resource will be covered by the state allocated by the respective Ministry.
