Givi Mikanadze: the business continuity management component to be inculcated in the Parliament

The Secretary-General of the Parliament, Mr. Givi Mikanadze participated in a video-conference on “Business Continuity Management in the Parliament of Georgia”.
According to him, the Scottish experts attending the conference dwelt on the activity management in the Parliament of Scotland under the pandemic.
“They can provide a vast experience in this regard and it would be interesting to get cognizant with their practice under the pandemic. The UN-EU joint project intends to engage these experts for development of the similar document for the Parliament of Georgia, naturally with participation of the Administration of the Parliament and the Heads of the Departments. Based on this document, the Parliament will be better prepared to address the challenges”, - he noted.
The Parliament of Georgia, even under the pandemic, managed to ensure effective mobilization and coordination for uninterrupted activity.
“And application of the remote activity mode has been realized by consideration of this format and the Staff has been well adapted to the situation. However, the experience of our Scottish partners is truly interesting to further improve our activity and ensure effective management of the processes", - he added.
The establishment of the BCM component in the Parliament is ensured by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy within the UN-EU joint project “Consolidation of Parliamentary Democracy in Georgia”.
