The Memorandum of Cooperation between the Staff of the Parliament of Georgia and the Administration of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The Parliaments of Georgia and Turkey proceed to the new stage of cooperation based on the Memorandum on Cooperation signed by the Secretaries General in Ankara following the bilateral negotiations on cooperation prospects.
The Secretaries General of the Georgian and Turkish Parliaments underlined importance of friendly and partnership relationships between the Parliaments and noted that the Memorandum will further facilitate approximation of the legislative bodies and exchange programs and experience.
The Secretary General of Georgian Parliament, Mr. Givi Mikanadze stressed the successful cooperation with his Turkish counterpart in various international and multilateral formats and noted that the Memorandum will facilitate exchange of experience between the colleagues on various issues.
He offered the Head of the Administration of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoğlu to jointly open the first Academy in Georgia under the aegis of the NATO PA for the Black Sea NATO member and aspirant states’ Parliamentary staffers.
He invited five staffers of the Turkish Parliament to Georgia in June to get cognizant of the reforming in Georgian Parliament, which was affirmed by his Turkish counterpart.
As Mr. Kumbuzoğlu noted, he will nominate the staffers for the visit and expressed his commitment to host the Georgian Parliamentary staffers to Turkey.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Turkey, H.E. Giorgi Janjgava and the Staffers of the Embassy and the Parliament.
