"It was very hard for everyone to see what we saw in the Parliament today. Russia is a country that has occupied 20% of our territories and a deputy of this country was sitting in the chair of the Parliament Speaker that was very hard to see”, – said Speaker of Parliament of Georgia to the journalists in Baku, where he has an official visit. 

Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the developments in the Parliament.

“Unfortunately, I was not able to immediately respond to the developments, because I am not in Georgia, I wasn’t in the country at that moment. I requested termination of the session as far as I was informed of this fact. I want to repeat once again that Russia is a country that has occupied our territories. We underlined this yesterday as well, when I took part in the opening of the session. The actions of the Russian Federation have nothing to do with Christianity or Orthodoxy and this is the fact that we have mentioned and will always mention. I want to repeat that what we saw at the parliament plenary sitting was absolutely inadmissible", – stated Speaker of Parliament of Georgia.
