Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee 16 Oct 2017
Mariam Jashi and Isko Daseni visited the exhibition of the works by Yazidi Kurds

The Chair of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, Mariam Jashi and MP, Isko Daseni attended the exhibition of the works by Yazidi Kurds and participated in the presentation of the Catalogue reflecting their paintings.

The organizer – the Chair of the Women's Rights Community Initiative, Lili Safarova thanked MPs for their support and delivered the honorary certificates for their merit in promotion and protection of cultural heritage of Yazidi Kurds of Georgia.

The Yazidi Kurds Community members noted that they always were supported by M. Jashi.

“Works of the artists of Yazidi Kurds Community of Georgia is less known not only for the society but for the Community itself, while the multinational and multicultural art treasury of Georgia comprises the pieces of art by Yazidi Kurds as well. That is why support by Mariam Jashi is very important. She keeps surprising us with knowledge of history, traditions and cultural heritage of the Community, of which not all of us can be proud”.

According to M. Jashi, exposing all the works by Yazidi Kurds in one area is very impressive. “Works by the young artists are particularly important. Today, we once again witness cultural diversity and tolerance of Georgia”.

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection, Yazidi Cultural-Educational Center and NATO and EU Informational Center.
