Meeting of Beka Odisharia, Givi Chichinadze and Merab Kvaraia with Compatriots Residing in Netherlands

As part of the working visit to the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Givi Chichinadze and the Deputy Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, Merab Kvaraia held the meeting with representatives of Georgian Diaspora organizations and compatriots living abroad.
The meeting discussed various issues of interest to Georgian society. The focus fell on the better functioning of communities and diaspora organizations and the enhancement of connection between the latter and the State of Georgia.
Beka Odisharia briefed his compatriots working in the Netherlands on the Georgian state's approach and visions on diaspora relations, current experience and diaspora policy, recent developments in Georgia, government-implemented and scheduled projects that should actively involve the Georgian diaspora.
The meeting resumed with a question-and-answer format, with a special emphasis on measures to be taken towards Georgian emigration abroad, accumulated problems, challenges in the diaspora and ways to address the latter.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Giorgi Sharvashidze and representatives of the Embassy.
In the end, the participants agreed on future cooperation and active contacts with the Parliamentary Committee through the social media.
