Nino Goguadze: we will scrutinize all substantiated opinion submitted on disinformation and propaganda by the local and international organizations
The Thematic Inquiry Group on disinformation and propaganda at the Foreign Relations Committee accomplished reception of the substantiated positions by the local organizations.
At the initial stage, 30 organizations expressed commitment for participation and 16 organizations submitted their written substantiated opinions.
“We have received the largest capacity of information from the local and international organizations. Taking the substantiated evidence-based opinions into account, and on the basis of the information from the executive authority, we outline the basic threats related to disinformation and propaganda. We will discuss about the measures to be undertaken on the legislative and executive level to mitigate disinformation and propaganda threats”, - Nino Goguadze noted.
If necessary, the group will hold the verbal hearings with participation of local organizations submitting the opinions.
The group is to develop the conclusion and recommendations to be submitted to the Foreign Relations Committee.
The opinions have been submitted by: CIPDD; IDFI; Rondeli Foundation; NDI; CRRC; GRASS; TI-Georgia; NDF; GSAC; Sustainable Development Association; Liberal Academy; Tabula; Media Club; GYLA; IRI.
