The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sophio Katsarava is serving an official visit to Germany.

On the first day of her visit, the Chair participated in a conference organized by the German Academy for Cultural Diplomacy - "The 30th Anniversary of the Fall of the Wall", where she addressed the audience.

Sophio Katsarava held meetings with members of the Executive Board of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, former President of EU Parliament Hans-Gert Pöttering, Deputy Chair of the Bundestag Defense Committee and Head of the German Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Karl Lammers, and Dirk Wiese - Bundestag MP, Coordinator for Intersocietal Cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership Countries.

The meetings focused on the relations between Georgia and Germany and all the main directions of cooperation.

Sophio Katsarava stressed on the reforms implemented in Georgia, the progress on the path to EU and NATO integration and the importance of the EaP initiative in this process. She also emphasized the grave situation in the occupied territories of Georgia.

The Chair of the Committee thanked her German colleagues for their contribution to Georgia's institutional, democratic and socio-economic development.
