The Conference on Regulation of Relations with Abkhazia and Ossetia
The Faction Georgian Dream-Enterpreneurs organized the Conference on “Dialogue with the Civil Society and Experts on Regulation of Relations with Abkhazia and Ossetia”.
According to the Chair of the Faction, Simon Nozadze, the Faction works on regulation since establishment, and the idea of conference was developed at the sitting of the Constitutional Commission. “I would like to underline that any decision made by the Government regarding occupied territories shall be communicated with the wide circles of the society and it shall be the decision of the nation and the country”.
The Deputy Chairman, Zviad Dzidziguri addressed the attendees: “I am glad that we hold the conference regarding this issue and finding solution ways is still relevant. I believe that the conference and every other meeting will be productive and necessary for our country”. The reality excludes unification through armed activities and “twisting arms”.
The only way remaining is relations between the peoples, public diplomacy and economic trade relations.
“Though, event these ways are not easy as each activity is related to lots of political aspects. If we fail to be very active and intensive in this direction, the situation will not be improved but aggravated”.
The acting Chair of the Government of Abkhazia AR, Vakhtang Kolbaia spoke about Geneva Talks. “Other than Geneva format, we have no other conflict solution ways. We considered various proposals. All the political parties and NGOs had the opportunity to express own opinion but lots of the opinions lacked the reality. We strive to estimate the current situation and to ensure our approach to be realistic”.
The representative of the Office of the State Minister on Reconciliation and Civil Equality, Madina Gagieva considered the current situation with Ossetia. The cathedrals on the occupied territory are in a grave situation she stated. “It is one of the issues we cooperate with Ossetia. They understand that it shall be dealt jointly. I hail that they show no aggression”.
The analyst, Besik Oboladze spoke about the of modern methodology conceptual model application towards the conflicts.
The representative of Technical University, Jemal Gakhokidze noted that the conflict shall be resolved in peaceful manner. He overviewed the models of peaceful resolution of conflicts by other countries and stated that the pre-conditions for the dialogue and talks shall be prepared: “We shall develop the brand new package of offers based on political, legal, economic, cultural and other issues”.
MP, Koba Narchemashvili spoke about reconciliation and stated that deriving from relevance of the issue, the discussions shall be aired on Public Broadcaster.
According to MP, Revaz Arveladze, taking the world models of conflict resolution, we shall develop the new model fit for geo-political reality of Georgia.
