The Chair of the Sports and Youth Issues Committee, Mikheil Kavelashvili held the introductory meeting with the UNICEF Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Afshan Khan and the UNICEF Representative to Georgia, Ghassan Khalil to discuss the joint projects on child and youth issues and importance of youth engagement in public life.

M. Kavelashvili introduced the bill on youth affairs and the novelties. As noted, UNDP and other international donor organizations support the child and youth programs in the region.

A. Khan spoke about importance of development of the national policy on youth and their parents: “The national policy shall be developed for the parents to equip them with the competences necessary for positive parenthood to better support their children in various issues”.
