The meeting of the Parliamentary Delegation to GUAM PA with the GUAM Secretary General, Altai Efendiev

Azerbaijan presides GUAM this year. The Parliamentary Delegation members to GUAM PA, Alexander Kantaria and Vakhtang Lemonjava held the introductory meeting with the newly elected GUAM Secretary General, Altai Efendiev.
The parties considered issues, including political, economic, sector and inter-Parliamentary cooperation. As noted, GUAM shall further work to become more effective leverage for regional cooperation. “Azerbaijan being active for economic and political relations of GUAM states is very important. We spoke about transit transportation corridor, Silk Road benefits in various directions – education, agriculture, culture”, - A. Kantaria stated.
“Mr. Efendiev has rich experience and an effective view of inter-relations. We think he will bring new energy to GUAM further increasing importance of the organization”, - V. Lemonjava stated.
“For me, it was important to know the position and interests of the country, to know how they can be reflected in the joint projects. We shared opinions, overviewed political and economic aspect and spoke about new opportunities for cooperation. Our views and priorities for cooperation coincide. We all agree that GUAM countries shall further be united and closely cooperate in economic projects”, - A. Efendiev stated.
