The meetings of Beka Odisharia and Givi Chichinadze with the representatives of Georgian Immigration and Diaspora Organizations in Italy

The Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia and the First Deputy Givi Chichinadze hold the working meetings with the representatives of Georgian Immigration and Diaspora Organizations in Italy with invitation of the Georgian Community in Milan “Homeland in our Heart”, Community in Florence “Zhaleti” and Cultural Association “Georgian Diaspora of Rome”.
At the meetings with Georgian compatriots from Rome, Pisa and other cities of Italy, the parties discussed the challenges Georgian diaspora encounters, solutions and Diaspora-state close cooperation. MPs overviewed the innovative projects in cultural-educational, scientific and socio-economic spheres in Georgia, and the state policy on diaspora.
The meeting with the parish of Georgian St. Nino Church in Florence was important where the parties underlined necessity of implementation of the national and traditional projects in Diaspora and existence of the Sunday Schools in view of maintenance of the national identity. It will ensure maintenance of uniform Georgian space, implementation of joint projects and use of diaspora potential for development of the country.
Within the visit, MPs took part in the presentation of the compendiums by Georgian and Italian poets published by the Milan Publishing House “La Vita Felice” with financial support of the National Center of Georgian Book and the state literature project “Living Books”.
MPs, on behalf of the Committee, thanked the Georgian Diaspora organizations, Communities and Sunday School representatives: Nunu Geladze, Natia Zazashvili, Nika Zazashvili, Ekaterine Kacharava, Maia Zalishvili and Suliko Lomtatidze for their merit and active diaspora activity abroad.
