The online meeting of the Vice-Speaker, Kakhaber Kutchava with the Vice-Speaker of the Senate of France, Laëtitia Saint-Paul

At the meeting, the parties discussed the processes in Georgia and the current agenda of Georgia, stressing the thematic issues of the Parliamentary Elections 2020.
Kakhaber Kutchava informed his French counterpart about the electoral processes. Mme. Saint-Paul congratulated Mr. Kutchava and his team with the victory in the Elections and expressed commitment for further cooperation.
The parties touched upon the gross violation of human rights by Russian Federation on the occupied territories of Georgia.
As K. Kutchava noted, the social state of the population on the occupied territories is extremely grave even aggravated by the pandemic as the residents of the occupied territories are not allowed to enter the territory under Georgian control to enjoy the medical service and treatment.
The parties dwelt on the EU integration process and Mr. Kutchava thanked the French politician for the intact support of France to the sovereignty of territorial integrity of Georgia.
The parties underlined the crucial role of France in supporting the EU and NATO integration of Georgia.
At the end of the meeting, the parties noted about the intention to further hold the bilateral meetings and the working visits between the countries in view of development of the inter-Parliamentary cooperation.
According to K. Kutchava, as soon as the new convocation assumes the activity and the new Friendship Group is set-up, the communication with the European colleagues and friend countries will be actively resumed.
