Video Conference by Beka Odisharia and Givi Chichinadze with Georgian Embassies and Diasporas Abroad

The Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia and the First Deputy Chair of the Committee, Givi Chichinadze held a video conference with the embassies and consulates of the epidemic-affected countries.
Georgian MPs talked to the Georgian ambassadors in Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Greece. B. Odisharia and G. Chichinadze telephoned Georgian Diasporas in the same countries, as well as in Sweden and the US. They also communicated with the diaspora organizations involved in the International Crisis Center set up by Georgian emigrants.
As B. Odisharia stated - "The goal of the video-conference was to examine the operational information in the host countries, where our compatriots are currently staying. The remote meetings were to identify the issues, where the Government and Parliament are capable to jointly make an adequate response. Such video calls will continue and ultimately, the public will be informed about all issues concerned".
According to the Committee Chair, this is a continuation of the process that has been taking place for recent weeks.
These are the meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the heads of the departments, as well as the hearings held within the Committee regarding the current state of emigration, and this process will continue in various formats.
