Irakli Kobakhidze: Bidzina Ivanishvili will lead the new wave of reforms in our party

“Mr. Ivanishvili has made the most important decision with the initiative of the Prime Minister – to come back to the politics. He will occupy the position of the Chair of the party after respective formal procedures”, - the Speaker stated.

The fact, that Mr. Ivanishvili will lead the political party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia”, will ultimately transform the party into the political union of European type. “We had frequent conversations including at the party conferences about necessity of respective measures to further enhance our political party. Our party shall be ultimately transformed into the political union of European type, which requires special resources and naturally, it is important that Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili will lead our party and undertake the new wave of reforms”.

The Speaker underlined the positive processes to take place in the party and that enhancement of Georgian Dream is crucial for development of party system in Georgia. “These are the positive processes to take place in our party. Our task is to further enhance the party. Enhancement of Georgian Dream is crucial for development of party system in general in Georgia. We shall approach to these processes in this light”.

The Speaker elucidated that the decision shall have no impact on various decisions and issues related to the composition of the party. “Naturally, this decision shall have no impact on various decisions and issues related to the composition of the party. Everything remains unchanged – the Speaker, Prime Minister etc. I mean that Mr. Ivanishvili will lead the party and will be involved in political processes in capacity of the Chair of the party in line with the functions respective to this position”.

In regards with the Prime Minister, the Speaker elucidated that Mr. Kvirikashvili occupies the highest political position and he will play the key role in development of the party. “Mr. Kvirikashvili is naturally one of the dignified leaders of our party. He is the Prime Minister. He occupies the highest political position in Georgia. Hence, he will play the key role related to development and enhancement of the party”.
