Isko Daseni participating in the events scheduled within Romanian-Georgian Culture Days on January 25

The Head of Georgia-Romania Friendship Group, Isko Daseni participates in the Romania-Georgia culture days on Januar 25. Bust of the Georgian poet and diplomat, Besik Gabashvili (sculptor David Maisuradze) was solemnly inaugurated in the historic center of the city of Iasi. Furthermore, the second edition of the Georgian poet's verses, translated into Romanian, has been presented and a photo exhibition, reflecting the everyday life of Romania and Georgia of Besiki’s epoch, has been opened. At the same time, Athenaeum of Iasi hosted another exhibition dedicated to Tbilisi and Kutaisi called "Tbilisi, Kutaisi – culture brings us closer”.
The presentation was attended by famous cultural figures and literature critics.
On behalf of the Georgian side, the event was attended by the head of Georgian-Romanian parliamentary group of friendship -Isko Daseni, Ambassador of Georgia to Romania, Nikoloz Nikolozishvili, Mayor of Iasi Mihai Chirica and the Kutaisi City Hall delegation headed by the Kutaisi Mayor Giorgi Chigvaria. Within the framework of the event, twinning agreement was signed by the relevant authorities of the above-mentioned cities. The Agreement aims to deepen the cooperation in areas such as education, culture, sports, health care, tourism and environmental protection. Local public administration bodies will share the experience accumulated in these fields.
On January 25, in the Bărboi Church (dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul) memorial service for the repose of poet’s soul, will take place.
