OPEN GOVERNANCE PERMANENT PARLIAMENTARY COUNCIL ESTABLISHES HIGHEST STANDARD OF TRANSPARENCY

Parliamentary Standing Council of Open Government 16 ივლისი 2020

For the first time since its establishment, Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council publishes the initiatives received for the development of the Action Plan for 2020-2021 with the sole aim: to improve the current level of transparency significantly.

The decision mentioned above is in line with the principle of openness. It helps to increase the involvement of citizens in the work of the Council and raise awareness of its activities. Full transparency of the processes serves to enable citizens to participate in decision-making and governing matters, including in the protection of fundamental civil rights, openness to participation, and the strengthening of a degree of democracy.

In the process of developing the Action Plan, the Council has received a number of initiatives. It plans to consult with the initiators at the working meeting to advance the recommendations further. The initiator will have the opportunity to present a proposal at a Q&A session with the Council and Consultative Group of the Council. The draft version of the Action Plan will be consolidated and posted on the website of the Parliament of Georgia to ensure the participatory process - the Council will receive written opinions/comments from any interested stakeholder.

The final Action Plan will be published on the website of Parliament and publicly available to all interested stakeholders.
